[He'd drove all night, habitually remembering to drink from the cold flask of cheap coffee he'd picked up from a diner and even more habitually to chew on aspirin. He had to keep the pain in his arm at bay, occasionally it would spasm causing him to jerk the wheel to one side. His eyes were aching, and either that was because of the exhaustion or the emotions which were rattling around in his head, both of which weren't things he was able to take care of right then.

He'd eventually caved in and put on the radio, listening to some random popular music station so he wasn't left with just his own thoughts. He didn't exactly enjoy the music but it was better than utter silence, every now and again he'd press a wad of napkins against his temple, which had crusted over but wasn't entirely finished bleeding yet.

Finally reaching the town he'd left Owen in earlier that day, or actually the day before considering it was now five in the morning, he could've simply ran but he'd either end up running into a wall or phasing half way through one and winding up dead.

He parked the car in the same car park he'd left the BMW and transfers the chest from one trunk to the other, after all he'd rather ditch Al's car for the stolen motor, regardless of the convenience of having a car with actual insurance papers.

Finally he drags himself into the corridors of the hotel, it seeming deadly quiet for the fact it was so early, he vaguely remembers Owen's room number having only seen it once before and slumps against the doorframe, tapping lightly on it and hoping Owen would hear.]

Owen? 's me... I mean, Five, y'there?

You can always wear a superhero costume that doesn't involve tights. They mostly just look uncomfortable and create an... access issue.

That's why there'd be a hole. C'mon seriously, tights make the costume. [Okay was this a bad time to mention just how much Jason liked superheroes.] I mean, Superman 'n The Green Arrow wouldn't look as attractive without 'em.

[Owen finds his nerdiness cute, fortunately.]

What about modern Batman, though? All the leather is much more attractive.

One, it's not even leather it's some crazy engineered crap, and two he's not attractive with that voice. It honestly makes him sound like a rapist. [Nods]

Think Smallville 'n the X-Men, all the superheroes in that are pretty hot... [He realises how he's talking and laughs at himself.] I watch too much TV 'n films...

Well, that's me told. [So, so amused.] ...I have to agree on the voice, though. There's sexy and there's... Well, what you said.

I can see that. But there's nothing wrong with a bit of... Hopeful entertainment.

[He gives Owen a shifty look.]

Well there's hopeful entertainment and then there's wild superhero fantasies.

[He resists the temptation to ask Owen what fantasies he had floating around in his head.]

[He gets a smirk in return.]

There's nothing wrong with those, either.

[Not too many, actually. But they're still better discussed in a time and place less... crowded.]

Good t'hear, then. Wouldn' want t'scare you off.

[He takes a deep drink from his black coffee and makes a coughing noise.]

Okay, that pot has been brewin' the best side of twenty years.

[Smirk.] Luckily for you, I don't scare very easily.

...I'm guessing that's not good?

[He groans.]

No, 've worked in enough coffee shops t'know when someones burnt every last ounce of taste out of the beans yet still keep goin'.

I would have thought that would be an improvement.

[If you're allowed to complain about his classmates, he's allowed to complain about coffee.]

No, actually.. I prefer my coffee rich 'n delicious. Must be the same reason I like you.

[He smirks.]

That is such a line.

[But it does have him blushing.]

Yeah, it is. [He smirks slightly, rubbing one foot against Owen's leg under the table.]

Problem?

[Excuse Owen while he squirms.]

...I wouldn't say that. Exactly.

[He moves the foot higher while casually stirring his coffee and taking a sip regardless of the ridiculous taste.]

What would you say, then?

[He thought about their earlier... engagement, and tries to smirk through his blushing.]

Uncomfortable.

[He pulls the foot back, tucking it behind his other leg.]

So sorry.

Have you had enough of the coffee, or should I call for the bill?

Bill! [He downs that last of his coffee, making a strange noise afterwards. He fishes into his jeans and throws a couple of bills on the table.]

'n anyway, I need t'prepare for the flight which means we need t'find a supermarket. [Oh yeah, he was a high maintenance flier.]

[Owen will add to it, then wriggles out of the booth.]

...A supermarket. Why?

[He stands and gets with that ridiculous habit of languidly stretching. he really does make a good go of objectifying himself.]

I need things!

[It is cruel and unusual punishment for Owen, who is really trying to do nothing but actually be a gentleman.]

...Things. What sort of 'things'?

Oh, y'know.. condoms.. lube, leather straps.. manacles. The usual.

[He rolls his eyes.] No I just need random crap, a bottle of aspirin, a book or magazine.. readin' glasses.

Good, because I think we might have trouble getting that past security. [Smirk.] Besides, I have manacles at home. [THEY'RE FOR WORK, OKAY. Everyone ins Jossverse seems to own a set.]

Ah. Well, I found a drugstore last night, so we can go there-- it should have everything you're after.
